SmarterMail 9406 calendar issues with MSOutlook (MAPI) and EM Client (EWS)
Problem reported by Gabriele Maoret - SERSIS - 10/8/2025 at 1:01 AM
Being Fixed
IN SM9406, when creating a calendar appointment from some MSOutlook (MAPI) clients and MANY EMclient (EWS) clients, the appointment itself is NOT saved on the server and other users DO NOT see it.

Resynchronizing the client simply causes the created appointments to disappear.

Downgrading to 9392 solves the problem, but the appointments must be recreated from scratch.

Hi Gabriele

I have just made a few and all of them sticks in Outlook as they should. Have you rebooted the server??

I can even see them in webmail.
Gabriele Maoret - SERSIS Replied
Yes, server rebooted. MS Outlook seems to have less issue (only 2 customers had this problem).

The worst is EM Client, with dozens users reporting it...

Downgrade immediately solved...

We had a few clients report that they get a red saving error when updating calendar events in webmail, so it might not be strictly related to sync problems. I wasn't able to get the error hopefully i get can someone to send me a copy today.

We have a fix in progress for the EWS issue, which only appears to occur when creating a new appointment that has no description context. I've tried replicating the reported issues with MAPI and webmail, but so far I haven't seen any problems with those. Please open a ticket if you are seeing issues with creating appointments via MAPI or webmail.

Same here, but We have also noticed the problem that if you add something to the description afterwards, the appointment is created on the server and the participants receive their invitation email (which did not happen before).

It seems the problem has been solved in the new 9413.

Before claiming victory, however, I'll wait a few days to check further...
