Tell us what you think of the latest build??

So we know what to expect. :)
DO NOT UPGRADE TO BUILD 9406!!!!!

Completely wiped the webadmin and no access to the domains.<

Downgrade did the trick.

EDIT: Tony installed the latest version and server is rebooted. All is good as of now. Will keep an eye on it during the weekend.

Just updated to 9406 on our test server and didn't have any issues with webadmin access post upgrade. Quick pass through the system and everything looks to be OK for now.

Can report we upgraded to 9406 as well and so far no issues.
Daniele (TDBnet) Replied
9406 updated without critical problems!

But... One issue and one suggestion:

- the new "What's new" box after user logon should be enabled by the admin, not forcefully by the update. Where can I disable it? :-(

- If I now can enable or disable the video of an attendee, why not also its audio? Disabled microphone is a more frequent oversight than the video ;-)

Thank you
Daniele

Update to SM 9406 on Debian 12 Linux: I have issue with Outlook/MAPI access after upgrading due to IPv6.

Solved disabling IPv6 on the Debian 12 server. See here:

Upgraded early October 4, no issues reported so far.

Found a bug regression.
On build 9224 you fixed: "In Online Meetings on mobile devices, the focus automatically shifts to the user when they are speaking."

Now this behaviour there's again. Users are very annoyed!

Daniele
You cannot add more than 2 rules in a domain then the third rule gets deleted after you hit save.

I would definitely not install the update. I have opened a ticket because calendar entries created in clients such as Outlook, eM Client, or Apple Calendar are not saved on the server and therefore not synchronized. Tested on different clients / regions with Mac and Windows 10/11. Downgrading to 9400 fixed it immediately. we use german / swiss german operating systems and client-applications. I don't know if this has something to do with.

The change logs for 9406 indicates some fixes in MAPI-Protocol for Calendar and there maybe the bug for this sync-issue happend.
Gabriele Maoret - SERSIS Replied
Hi Roger!
I'm having the same problem you reported regarding calendars: some users who use EM Client (EWS accounts) and MS Outlook (MAPI Exchange accounts) have noticed that the appointments they mark in their calendar are NOT being saved on the SmarterMail server (nor are invitations to other users...).

The worst thing is that when you resync the client, the created appointments simply disappear.

Downgrading to 9392 (because it was my previous working version, never tried 9400...) solves the problem, but the appointments must be recreated from scratch...

Can you upgrade to 9400 so we can see if thats the latest stable build? We havent had any reports on the latest build other than weird favorite folder actions....

It would be great to have a reference point to get back to if the new builds are broken so we know what works so we can keep our customers happy

Hi Brian!

I will try 9400 today...

Inbox outlook via MAPI doesnt reflect the inbox on the devices or webmail.

Missing the most recent mail which is an accepted meeting request. Resync alll devices doesnt work.

9400 definitly works with the calendar

We had reports of a few clients getting errors saving Calendar changes in webmail, so the problem might be a little larger than just MAPI.
Downgraded to 9400 and it made outlook significantly faster and more responsive.

Build 9400 seems to work OK for me... Waiting a few days to confirm.

What a mess. Is this even tested before releasing something like this? How can this be?

To be fair, we had a pretty good stretch there where they weren't un-doing fixes they applied in previous version lol

I'm not seeing issue with 9413 at the moment...

I'll wait few days to confirm it, but to me it seems good...

Can you add more than 3 rules to inbox/sent items /deleted items folder auto clean and use 1825 days as a value??

And if you add more than one domain on the same smartermail server to outlook and add their inbox to favorites folder, will it stay there after a outlook restart?

And will the calendars stay as well??
Gabriele Maoret - SERSIS Replied
Hmm... I should do some testing because I haven't heard of anyone using any of the cases you mentioned yet...
But not today, and in the next few days I'll be busy with inspections for ISO 22301, 9001, and 27001 renewals, so I don't know when I'll have time to do them...

And now my invites with danish characters looks like this on the latest build... where it should have said "på" and netto's and "møde"

Brian, when you say you can't create more than 3 auto-clean rules for a folder, you are limited to 3 (Size of Folder, Time in Folder, Message Date). Are you trying to add user auto-clean rules that are, say, different than ones set by the Administrator? I'm pretty sure those 3 options have not been changed or others removed in any recent Build. In our testing on the latest, as well as the previous Build, you could create 3 rules and save them all.

I cant on the server on all the domains.

This is general

I cant add the third rule. SM has tried to do it as well. Wont do it.

Ah, I found the ticket. I was doing it as a logged in user. Looks like it's an issue with impersonation?

We're aware of the Cyren and Message Sniffer issues and have a fix in place for it. We can send out custom Builds with just the fix as needed, post here or send us a ticket and we'll get it to you. (For those of you with tickets already, we'll send over the custom Build.) We will do a release this week for this issue, and any others that pop up. A larger release is coming next week.

Nowadays, new updates are breaking more than fixing something. It has become so unreliable.
