Did the pop-up method for Impersonate User change?

As of recently, the pop-up for the Impersonate User is getting blocked. Did something change?

I noticed this issue too.

When I try to impersonate a user it does weird things. At first it does nothing, after trying a few things, like reloading the page, I finally end up being in impersonate mode.

But it displays an error toaster with "[object] [object]" and I can't do anything even logout.

When I try to go back to the login page, the page stays blank with JS errors:

I'm running brave browser, maybe something is blocked by built in brave anti-sh1t ads.

EDIT: Disabling brave shields on the pages doesn't help. Also I noticed these errors in the JS console when trying to impersonate in the first place:

EDIT2:
Tried with Edge and got the same issue.

Tried with Firefox and the issue is different. With Firefox, the browser tells me it has blocked a popup and asks me if I want to allow it. When I allow it, the impersonation works correctly.

Using Vivaldi (chrome-based browser), I cannot even get it to say pop-up blocked. I see the tab open, and then immediately closes. I have disabled blocking of pop-ups. If I refresh the page of my original tab, then the impersonated user page is displayed with no way to get back to the admin user.

With Chrome & Firefox, I get a pop-up blocked that I can then allow.

I also use Vivaldi and i experience the same. The impersonation has become almost unusable.

I went ahead and submitted a ticket referencing this thread.

Which issue are you having, David. If you're not able to see the impersonate tab, make sure you're allowing pop ups on the SmarterMail website. That has fixed this issue for me and others. If you're seeing the toast notifications, that's something different.

Well, I'm embarrassed.  Pop-Ups were being blocked and allowing them resolved the issue.

I do, however, think something has changed though.  I have other SM Servers on older versions that don't require Pop-Ups to be enabled for Impersonation to open a new browser Tab.

Anyway, thanks Derek for your help.

I've noticed it too, I believe something did change with impersonate and we're losing the context needed to stop the popup blocking. It definitely used to work in a way to not cause the issue.
