Thunderbird 140 introduces (experimental) support for EWS!

Has anyone tested this with SM?

yes, there's a new account setup window, and it freezes as soon as i try to go to the next step. I guess either they'll have to fix it, or it doesn't like smartermail at all

So it doesn't work right now... damn...

If it worked well (hopefully), it would be a wonderful addition to the SmarterMail ecosystem...

I'd recommend SmarterTools contact Thunderbird development to see if they can work together...

BUMP!

Can SmarterTools dev team consider this as a "feature request"?

well, currently thunderbird just supports mail through EWS, so no calendar, contacts etc. So it's kinda pointless when you already have imap

That's why I ask SmarterTools if they can collaborate with Thunderbird's developers...

Hi Gabriele! I just downloaded the latest beta and daily builds of Thunderbird to do some testing on this but so far I'm not seeing EWS options in the account setup screen or under Experimental Features. Is there a specific build or OS that is required for this?

Hi, Kyle!

...Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure how it works or what the requirements are...

I just thought, reading the news, that this could be a killer feature if it were truly fully integrated.

Thanks Gabriele! We did end up finding the new account setup screen and in our testing the freezing setup screen is happening against both SmarterMail and Exchange so currently we suspect this stems from Thunderbird itself. We'll keep this on our radar for future testing though. Thanks for the heads up! :)
