Auto-SSL behavior
Problem reported by Chris - 3/24/2025 at 2:28 PM
Being Fixed
With Auto-SSL enabled, Smartermail begins to ping Let's Encrypt over and over again, causing the server to be blocked due to rate limiting. So when a new domain is added, instead of making it Active right away, can you set it to Disabled by default? This way we can have the proper time to setup DNS A records, change hostname for the domain, etc. BEFORE enabling SSL.

Hi Chris! I just completed testing on our fixes for this and so far I haven't run into any scenarios that trigger a rate limit. I've tested having invalid DNS records but proper bindings, valid DNS records but missing bindings, hostnames that were valid at one point and aren't any longer, etc. Are there any specific scenarios you'd like to see tested on this fix?
