Public folder for files

Hi!
A group of my users needs a public folder to share some files and subfolders each other, like but really simpler than Gdrive.

What can I do to please them?

I've already checked under domain - sharing - public folders, but types are only Contacts, Calendar, Tasks or Notes.
Creating a folder in the file archive of a dedicated SM account, I'm not able to share the folder access with other users, but only single files previously uploaded.

AND a PUBLIC/SHARED folder for MAILS (To have the same functionality as it works on MS Exchange Public Folders)...

+1 and adding to this.
We just took on a new client.  They currently have drop box and MS Office shares set up. They want to give "SOME" files access internally to their accountant, but not a bunch of stuff. It would be nice if we could say that the Files Shares can do this. Create a folder in the file share, load our 7 documents into it and then share them internally with staff.  I think I can see the complication in that drop box and MS Office are designed to do live updates of the files, whereas SmarterMail is more of a "here is a file to download" and then it would need updated again after editing.  But even that would be useful for this client.  We are looking to set them up with some type of NAS or internal file sharing (they got locked out of DropBox before and almost locked out of MS Office) to handle the larger load, but just to do a few files through SM would be really nice.

Oh, Daniele - If you are not familiar with it, Look into TrueNAS. It is an open source NAS software and you can install on just about anything and set up OwnCloud on it for file sharing. Of course TrueNAS will do internal shares, but use OwnCloud or some other plug in to grant external access to outside users.

Thank you Curtis. I know TrueNAS and other solutions for private file sharing, but my idea was to use SM as a unique platform for my users, without redirecting them to an other file sharing service.

I hope that SmarterTools will add file folders sharing to users and groups, as it happens for mail folders, calendars, notes, etc.
