Problem reported by berk bagdatlioglu - 9/9/2024 at 2:14 AM

Hello,

We used to be able to select flags via a checkbox. After updating, this feature disappeared from our email system. Is this feature not available in SmarterMail? We have tried to indicate this in the screenshots below.  tried to indicate this in the screenshots below.

Hello @berk,

it works for me without errors.

However, I have noticed an error behavior.
- Message in inbox “flagged with flag”
- Switch to “Tasks"
- If I now mark this as “completed” under “Tasks”, it disappears in “Tasks”. But the message in the inbox is still marked with the “flag” and is not marked there as completed with a “green tick”.

hi,
When I did what you suggested, it both disappeared and the checkmark didn’t appear.

So, we've tested this on a couple of different Outlook installs, and a couple of different versions of SmarterMail and we just can't seem to replicate it. This is from my own domain running Build 9007

I flagged this message for follow-up:

And it appears in Outlook as a To-Do:

When I mark it as done in To-Dos, the message is marked as completed on the message itself. If I remove the flag from the message, the To-Do disappears.

So I want to be clear, we're talking about items that show up as To Dos in Outlook which, to my mind, are different than actual Tasks, even though To-Dos can show up in a Tasks list. And are any of these flags set using Rules or anything within Outook?

My testing was done on Outlook (Classic) 2408 (Build 17928.20114 Click-to-run)

Hello Derek,

I can no longer reproduce the error I described in my environment.

Although I have not made any updates on the server or the clients, I can't quite explain it. But even after multiple tests yesterday and today, the error did not reappear.

Best Regards
Oliver

Interesting. Any chance that there was a Windows update, either on the client side or the server side?

I can definitely answer that with no, as the updates are controlled centrally.
It is also a mystery to me that the problem has disappeared without any changes.

Well, I think Berk is still seeing an issue, and we have a ticket open with him, so we'll continue looking into it. Glad it fixed itself for you, at least. Oliver!
