eM Client new version 10
Question asked by Martin Schaible - 8/2/2024 at 4:48 AM

Hello

We use the eM Client license provided over SmarterMail. Today i discovered, that the installed "Pro" license does not qualify from version 9 to 10. Therefore we need to upgrade the license for around 34 Euros/USD.

If somebody gets now a new license via our SmarterMail server, does he get a version 9 or 10?

Thanks!

Hello,

When the partnership began between SmarterTools and eM Client, version 9.x was available. eM Client has since released version 10.x. If a license is eligible for an automatic upgrade, users who have eM Client activations should receive an email announcing the upgrade that will include a download button. Otherwise, domain administrators can purchase the upgrade to 10.x for as many activations as they like, and if they do so from the eM Client page within SmarterMail, a 25% discount is available.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Now that v10.x is available, that is what will be provided to new domains when they go through the process.

There should be a way to upgrade to 10.x (purchase upgrade) for domains that registered for emClient through SM when it was at version 9.x.

I found no way to do it on my test domain. If you click purchase it will allow you to order additional licenses for the 9.x version, but no option to upgrade.

Also I tried an hour ago to request a code for emClient, with another domain, and it says a mail was sent to postmaster@domain.tld (the domain admin account), but nothing came in.

Is this still functionning ?

Kind regards.

If enabled at the System level, the ability to request FREE eM Client licenses will be located in Domain Settings area for the domain administrator.

Sebastian, it is working.  There are many provisions in place to prevent fraud or requests for keys for domains that have already received some. The domain must also be configured properly to receive email from the outside world.

Hello Tim,

I tried again today and this time I received the code. So yes, seems it is working and with version 10.

Kind regards.
