Beta version and new functions

Hello everyone

I wanted to ask the community and especially the SmarterTools team what new features and improvements have been added in the new beta version. Yes, the compatibility with Linux is absolutely clear to me. I am much more interested in the range of functions in general.

Hey Roger,

Thank you for reaching out about this question. Most of the changes in the beta version have been bug fixes. We have been working on new integrations internally to make SmarterMail more like a private cloud, to better compete with Office 365. The first of these integrations, ownCloud, is available in the current beta release. Additionally, we have released a Docker for SmarterMail.

Once we finalize everything, we will let everyone know about the new and exciting features we have added.

I would be very happy about an integration of filecloud. (filecloud.com)

FileCloud is a professional cloud storage solution and its functions are geared towards business customers. A big advantage is, for example, the implementation of legal regulations in the cloud area.

Why would you use an external provider to store your data using SM??

We and our customers want to use SmarterMail's storage space for files, but instead use our cloud storage solution here. For example, SmarterMail's storage is extremely high performing for us (NVMe) and therefore simply too expensive to offer filestorage here. Otherwise, we have different places where files are stored and managed and that is, in very simple terms, bad

That makes a lot of sense Roger. Being able to customize where a domain's File Storage ultimately is kept might be a nice addition as well.

Of course, it would be great if you could set up a cloud storage service for each domain so that the data for meetings, chats, saving file attachments and adding file attachments could be accessed directly from the cloud storage. Or even the integration of a share link in the mail without having to send the file as an attachment.

Hello Zach,

the following points would be great for the integration of FileCloud

- Integration of the data storage of the FileCloud user under the data storage item in SM

- Integration of the file question from FileCloud in SM to create a share link with rights for sending in an email

- Integration of FileCloud as data storage in meetings

- The ability to create a rule that automatically inserts mails to a mailbox in a FileCloud folder

I think SmarterMail should also consider NextCloud also.

On top of this, why not allow Wasabi S3 integration for SmarterMail Native File Storage ?
