Default greylist set has overlapping ranges
Problem reported by Nick Jansen - 5/8/2024 at 10:52 AM
Resolved
While testing Linux beta build 8887, I noticed the default greylist IP address set (Settings -> Antispam -> Greylist Filters) has some overlapping ranges. I don't know if that's intentional or not but I thought it's worth pointing out just in case. I just checked my production build 8888 and it's the same too, but I don't use greylisting so I didn't notice until I started testing the beta.

I am seeing these as well Nick, thanks for pointing that out! I'm going to check in with dev on this and I'll get you an update as I find out more.

I checked in with development on this for you and unfortunately we don't have a whole lot of control over this one. We build this list of addresses from a list of domain names using SPF lookups, and it appears some of those SPF records have overlapping ranges. From what I understand this isn't problematic though, so we should be okay!

OK cool, yeah I figured it wouldn't cause any actual problems and was just more of a cleanup issue. Thanks for checking!
