E-mails not delivered
Question asked by Ian Hamilton - 5/3/2024 at 3:06 AM

Over the past few weeks I have been aware that some e-mails are not arriving (mainly as people are phoning to ask why I have not answered). Some, such as bank, medical and accountant, are important.

Though I download on to Thunderbird, I frequently go into Webmail to clean up stored junk and also block unwanted e-mail addresses so my first thought was that I had accidentally blocked some e-mails but I could not find them in the list.

I have therefore cleared all blocked senders and also added the e-mail addresses I am aware of to my trusted list in the hope that it might solve the problem.

My question is, "Do you think this is the likely cause and I should just wait and see if it solves it," or "Is there something else that could be causing it and if so what should I do to check?"

As it is only selected e-mail addresses I have to assume it is something I have done so I would appreciate if I could be advised any further checks I could make.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. The problem is that the only way I know I knew I was not receiving e-mails was when someone contacted me by another means to ask why I had not responded. As such I will not have the copy of any e-mails as they didn't arrive.
In my message I mentioned I had deleted ALL blocked e-mail addresses and was asking if that was enough to ensure that e-mails would arrive if previously blocked by that method.

I suppose I am also concerned that there might be another issue but since my e-mails are still coming in as usual each day, I am assuming that the issue is solved by the above and all I can do is wait until I receive an e-mail from someone who I know was originally blocked. What worried me that of the 3 or 4 whose e-mails I had not received only 1 was on the blocked list.
