Email Icons (Is this BIMI?) Random colors for the same sender and seem to randomly change.

We are on build 8797. The last few days I am looking at emails and I just feel "scattered" when I look at them. Like, I look at the emails and feel confused.

This morning I finally put my finger on the "WHY".
The Icons (are these BIMI Images ?) in front of the emails are not consistent.  They seem to change constantly and randomly.

Sorry, but this is incredibly distracting and irritating.  I am trying to find emails from people and the pictures and iconc change. I just moved a bunch of emails from the inbox to another folder, and it seems like a bunch of the icons still left in the inbox folder just randomly changed.  Like I saw photos of people before, now it is just a letter "K" in front of their name.

In fact, Here is an example of the same sender having 3 different background colors on the icons. 2 Emails sent the same day have 2 different colors.  I have others where it is 4 different colors and an actual Icon as well, so 5 changes to their icons.
This is a distraction, not assisting.

Is this a bug with SM or is this the sender having problems or what is this ?

(EDIT / UPDATE)
Now that I know what I am looking at /for , here are another several examples.
I click on a folder, and then after a while the icons change. Sometimes while I am actually looking at the emails, sometimes i have to leave the folder and come back.  But random stuff changes.

I am a very visual person, almost a photo memory. I can draw stuff I have only seen once. So when I see something and it then just randomly disappears or changes on me, i feel like I am loosing my mind.

I imagine if the sender doesn't provide a BIMI, it displays the first letter and random color as place holder.

If they bother you that much you could disable it in your account settings > webmail > hide email avatars.

Your first example pointing out the same sender having different icons is a bit weird. They do have differences, probably means they were sent by different email accounts or services. You can try aligning the names to fix it.

Those examples you pointed out

Hey Matt,
I ended up disabling the icons. I cant deal with that scattered "blast painting." (I had a paint can explode on a wall once, thats what it reminded me of)  Is there any way to disable the icons for the entire server all at once ?
I have confirmed that 3 different color icons came from the same email address. Yes the name was different on all 3, but the "from" address is the same.
Do you guys plan to fix this ?  The text name of the email sender should not matter, it should be based off the "from" email address if anything. Or even a way to synchronize them for a single client. OR, that we can specify what color each one shows up as.  This way we could, even if they are sending from several different from addresses, we can make all of the colors for a domain the same. All of the emails from domain "shelter people" is the same color, all of the emails from "Hawaii state government" the same color.

But just random colors creates chaos and does not actually help.
Thanks !

You can add an image to their GAL account details and it will use that icon for their avatar. You can also do it to specific contacts.

The icon colors and monogram letter are based off the display name of the sender if they have a display name, so that would explain why they are different colors despite the address being the same. Their display names are different, you could try aligning those as well if you wanna stick to colors.
