Switching SMTP protocol (25) encryption
Question asked by Tony L - 1/4/2024 at 11:08 AM
Unanswered
Our server was setup with none encryption for the SMTP port 25 within Smartermail admin panel. We are thinking of changing the encryption type from none to TLS, and were wondering if doing so may affect clients who already have their email client setup using none encryption for SMTP (Outgoing) or not.

If anyone have similar experience, would love to hear from you. Thanks!

The TLS toggle is offered as an optional feature when connecting on SMTP, so any unsecured connections should remain as such. That being said, depending on how old the version is that you're on, changing the port definition may blip any connections momentarily while the old port definition is unloaded and the new one is loaded.
