Extension not allowed since latest update
Question asked by Nick Brosnan - 6/12/2023 at 12:54 PM

Hello everyone, I am getting the following message across multiple tickets ever since updating to the latest build (8545) last week:
The user attempted to send a file through email with an extension that is not allowed: _DefaultClientAvatar.svg

This might be a quick fix but can someone point me in the right direction on how to resolve this? I never saw this before on any previous versions/builds. Thank you!

Hey Nick,

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with your SmarterTrack instance. Maybe whoever is sending you tickets switched to using an SVG for their signature image. Try going to Settings->Security->Uploads next add .svg to both lists and save.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Hello Zach, thank you for the quick reply. This is happening from multiple users; almost all of them. It was not happening before we updated to the latest build. Any other thoughts?

Hey Nick,

Thanks for the follow-up. Can you verify that the extensions being blocked are in fact included in that list?

Hello, they were not included in this list. I added .svg as per your recommendation originally. Will advise if this fixes the issue.

So I've already noticed we are no longer getting the message, it is just appearing in the ticket as an attachment. Is this a new feature on the latest build? Again, never had this happen on any previous build.

Just from our install, .svg isn't on our default list so I could say it wasn't there before, and the sender has recently changed from an allowed file format to using svg.
