Whitelist IP for API function AuthenticateUser

Hi,
I'm building an improved login experience for our user. However, I bump into a small problem.

I have to simulate that my user key in the wrong username/password, this also means that this number will multiply when I have alot more users.

How do I whitelist the IP for my system because SmarterMail does not capture x-forward IP but see my proxy system instead?

Log shows this
Webmail Login failed: Too many login attempts for user xxx. Brute force attempts increased to 31. User brute force attempts increased to 4. Next clean available
