SmarterMail Administrators IP Restrictions: add the possibility to use also IP Netmask / IP classes (ex: 192.168.2.0/24 or 192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0)

In SmarterMail, when you define an IP Restriction, you can only enter either a single IP (example: 192.168.2.2) or a range of IPs (example: 192.168.2.2-192.168.2.100):

If I try to enter an IP class (example: 192.168.2.0/24 or 192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0), SmarterMail let me  click on OK, but then this is not registered (I don't know if it is a BUG or by design):

I propose to also enable the use of IP classes.

Hey Gabriele, I believe this should take CIDR class entries as well. I did a quick test on this here though and ran into some interesting behavior as well. I'm going to make a note to get this tested further and should have some feedback for you early next week. Have a good one!

I went back through our help and this area actually only supports a single IP address or a range (like 10.1.1.1-10.1.1.10) and is not set up to handle CIDR ranges. So, this will be a feature request after all. I'll get that submitted for you!

Hey Gabriele,

Just wanted to add to Kyle's response here.
As a workaround, you could do
192.168.50.0 - 192.168.50.254
This should have the same effect as 192.168.50.0/24

Kind Regards,
