A customer who is not using MAPI but IMAP/SMTP and the Add to Outlook feature (sharepoint) is having trouble when creating appointments with attendees invitations.
To troubleshoot the issue I created myself a fresh Outlook profile and configured an account with IMAP/SMTP and Add to Outlook "stuff".
So, when I create an appointment from Outlook and add attendees to it, the recipients are receiving the invitation request and the event seems to display successfully in Outlook.
However when I check the event from the Webmail, it has no attendant:
Also when the attendants accept the invitations, the user organiser account receive "Accept" e-mails which is correct. But it doesn't update the status of the attendants in Outlook and from the webmail, if I click on "details" on the accept mails, it says it can't find the event.

It looks to me at this point that nothing is working correctly about appointments attendant management when using Outlook/Sharepoint.
Any idea ?
Oh, almost forgot, I did my tests with Outlook 2021
PS: I did not find a way to post bigger screenshots,seems that the community forum force a maximum size. I hope you can read them. It would be really handy to be able to click on images to open it "real size".
I think you might be able to copy the image src and paste it in your browser address bar to view it full size...
