Delete and bypass Deleted Files Folder
Idea shared by Vahn Babigian - 6/16/2022 at 12:24 PM
Proposed
I have setup a number of subfolders to filter out different emails. There are times that I want to delete a email or delete all emails within a folder. It would be nice to have an option to delete or delete all and bypass the deleted files from going to the deleted files folder then having to delete them again from there.

Right now the choices are to "delete" and "delete all files in folder". Both options send files to "deleted files" folder. My request is to add another option lets call it Permanent Delete which would bypass the deleted files folder.

Hello Vahn,

Right now we offer three options that can be set per account for what to do when you delete an email. Go to user settings -> account -> webmail [card] and you will see an option for "delete email action" where you can adjust the behaviour.

I hope this helps.

In addition to Tony's comment above, I'd recommend that you create a Folder Auto-Clean rule on your Deleted Items folder. Since the folder would be automatically cleaned based on size of the folder or age of the email, you wouldn't need to regularly clean out the Deleted Items folder. SmarterMail will do it for you automatically
