Regularly appearing on spamhaus pbl
Question asked by Montague WebWorks - 5/27/2022 at 10:25 AM
Answered
Twice in a week now I'm getting a report on the Server Blacklist page that my email server IP is appearing on the spamhaus pbl, but when I go there to request removal, they tell me I'm not on their list. How do I investigate whether something is actually happening, or is this a false flag / I'm-not-actually-involved kind of thing?

Would cross reference with a 3rd party service, like MXtoolbox. If MX Shows your blacklisted 99% of the time your blacklisted, or you just got yourself removed and MX hasn't gotten the update yet (For me, they have always been accurate within 15 minutes)

Good point. Looks like we're clear now, and in any event it didn't appear to impact my server.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I have done some research on this and this is a false positive. I have also had some tickets reporting the same issue that you're reporting and it's down to changes that Spamhaus themselves made.

Research: https://webtitancloud.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/4000181123-spamhaus-rbl-blocking-all-email

There is currently a development task for looking into if we want to remove Spamhaus from the default SmarterMail installation or find some way to make it work.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
