Receiving emails with wrongly encoded subject in Outlook 365
Problem reported by Bruno Gomes - 4/5/2022 at 4:12 AM
Submitted
Lately I have clients receiving emails in Outlook 365 where the subject is badly encoded and with the designation =?iso-8859-1 .
Does anyone know how to solve?

Thanks.

Hi Bruno! I'm sorry to hear you're having these problems in SmarterMail/Outlook. Can you confirm what build version you are currently running? We did release some encoding related fixes in recent history, so you may want to consider an upgrade. Additionally, what sync protocol are you using in Outlook? If you are not leveraging MAPI this may be due to EAS no longer being supported for desktop synchronization by Microsoft. Let me know what you find out :-)

That is great to hear Bruno, that should be an optimal setup. Are those poorly encoded messages being composed in Outlook MAPI as well, or are these being put together elsewhere? If you could submit a ticket including the raw content (EML file) of the sent message we should be able to replicate this here pretty quickly and get it over to development if need be. Thanks Bruno!

@Bruno: Can you send it to me in a private message? I'll do some testing on it for you and delete it once I've followed up with you.
