shared folder

I don't understand why this limitation.

Why is it possible to share folder only with users of the same domain? Why can't I share the folder with users on the same server but from different domains?

Other softwares I know (Kerio and MailEnable) work like that too...

Do you know a software that can share across domains?

Excuse me, but I disagree with the reasoning.

Do you think smartermail limits itself to copying functions present in other mail servers?

Very limiting.

In my opinion, the ability to share folders between domain users on the same server is a plus
If smartermail develops it first that would be great

I wonder if there are any technical limitations in doing this.
Only the development department can tell us this

You asked "WHY?"... so to answer you I just assumed that SmarterTools first of all tried to cover the functions that are "normal" because they already exist in other products as well ...

Of course your question can be turned into a FEATURE REQUEST.

But to me it seemed a bit aggressive the way you put it: it seems that you are blaming SmarterTools because they are limiting your possibilities because a fundamental function is missing...

But this function is not fundamental...

Of course it would just be nice to have it, but it's not a standard feature that ALL the other competitors besides SmarterMail are offering ...

I never said it was essential.

I asked
why is there this limitation?

If there are no technical difficulties, which I do not know, it seems to me more the limit in the interface than a new feature.

But then again, it may be that I'm wrong. Hope someone from development can answer

Which then, as you can see, I created the post as a proposed idea

We get a request or two a year for this feature. Its not often but we do see it.

SmarterMail and domains are significantly sandboxed.  Allowing authentication and permissions and security to cross domains would be a huge undertaking for a small number of customers and with added risk.

If this is a critical feature for your organization, I would look at another product.  Hope you guys appreciate the honesty, we want you guys to succeed and we don't want to string anyone along.

Thanks Tim for your attention

I believe in your product, that's why I write everything that happens to me and ask what can be useful for me.

In the hope of being useful for the growth of the product.

I really appreciate the answer.

I was wondering why it wasn't there.

In fact I need it to solve another problem.

I am trying to create a function for my users. I will propose it as a case study soon.

Thanks again
