SmarterMail 8055 Resync Feedback
Question asked by echoDreamz - 1/22/2022 at 11:37 PM
Answered
Had a user reporting issues with contacts not syncing correctly (missing some, show duplicates of others) in Outlook (2019, MAPI). Ran the new "Resync User Protocols" option, within an hour, he responded back saying the issue was resolved.

Well done SM team.

Mailbox has a little over 700 contacts, 10GB in size (sync last year of email). Took a little under an hour to complete the resync for Outlook and he's happy.

You're lucky echoDreamz,

With EAS, I still have empty title on recurring appointments both on Webmail and Thunderbird/Android Smartphone :

Regards.

@Chris - That sucks... We've done 3 different users now, 1 was MAPI-only, the other 2 were MAPI+EAS and all 3 instances were fixed.

I'd say open a ticket with ST if you have not already, sure they will get it fixed up.

@Chris: Where were these recurring appointments created originally? Were these generated in Outlook EAS, webmail, or an Android client perhaps? The protocol and device type are usually part of our issue on things like this. Please don't hesitate to open a ticket with us if you need any help tracking it down.

Chris, I see you have a ticket related to this and Zach has evaluated it and says your calendar files on the server don't have the data for just a few appointments.  We are pushing to your clients what the server has.

It seems the client you are using is the potential cause of the few calendar appointments without titles.  Maybe Zach can help you with that.  I am not familiar with TB Sync but if its anything like Thunderbird itself, it can often not follow RFC's at times..

Again, not a resync issue and for other customers, we have no tickets that are actually resync related.
