Site Tuning says link "Can not be found"
Problem reported by Paul White - 5/24/2021 at 4:39 PM
Known
I ran the site tuning tool, and it seems to be having problems with my friendly URL paths.
Example if you go to this page
Look at the structure of the links under categories
They are like this

but Site Tuning (When scanning the blogs page) says that category link is a broken link
Any ideas as to why?

That page technically does not exist, as there is no folder structure for category, long number, ect..
That URL is then parsed the redirected ( on the server side ) to the correct page.
The client is never given a 404 code back.

I am running SmarterStats Professional, Build 7789 (Apr 29, 2021)

I think this might be related to the pages not being physically present, as we're not probing those URLs the same way an end-user would being that we're doing this in-code. I would like to ask that you submit a support ticket on this one so we can take a closer look for you. Please ping me here if you end up submitting a ticket on this and I'll grab it and get it going in the right direction. Have a good one!

This was determined to be expected behavior, and we're submitting a feature request to have SmarterStats handle this as a "page-scrape" in the future to better enabled us to handle friendly links such as the ones found in products like Wordpress and Drupal. Please note on this community post if you'd like to see this functionality included in SmarterStats as well.

Yes I definitely would like to see that feature added to SmarterStats.  My OCD kicks in hard when I see SmarterStats reporting Fixes needed.  Its stressful when they are in fact False positives.
Thanks
