Message Archiving
Idea shared by Sabatino - 4/8/2021 at 3:19 AM
Proposed
I was trying message archiving but I think it may be more useful to manage this way (whether it is enabled for all domains or single domain)

messages stored in sub-folders

domainname / account / yyyy-dd / inbox

domainname / account / yyyy-dd / sent

perhaps giving the possibility to automatically integrate a subfolder to the account / archive /

The maximum would be not allowing the deletion of messages in / archive to the non-admin user

All this by adding the possibility of establishing how long the archive lasts and with the possibility of activating everything (as smarteremail has already accustomed us) at server / domain / account level

Hi

As a feature request proposal;
I had sent below option:

There is event and  email + (plus) folder system and event system is working good.

For archiving smartermail team sometimes share option of creating events for every single email address to be acrhived. Instead of doing that I thought variables in event system might be used.

Idea works this way;
two events be created for emails sent and recieved.

As an event task; add recipient will be selected.
an email should be created for archive in like archive@domainname.com and plus foldering will be enabled.
As receipent  archive+##username##@domainname.com will be written.
Every email will be moved to its username folder.

I have tried this option but event systems variables doesn't work in for plus(+) email system.
If that works it would be a nice option for archiving.

With this option;
Every emails sent and recieved will be organized in folders with name of email owner.
-domain admin might create folder cleaning rules like clean more than 30 days or 10GB per folder so only some amount of emails will be kept in system.
-admin may share those folders with email owners so email owners can get copy of their emails even they delete it from their webmails or copy emails from shared folders to their own accounts.

I prefer below options.
It makes archiving much better than current one.
Current one is so simple and even we cannot control the size or date of archived folders.
I only might add an option of selecting which users to be archived as emails sent or recieved.
Some clients are asking not to archive all email also want to delete some emails that belongs to special users only.
