SmarterMail Outlook MAPI accounts without offline caching
Question asked by Gabriele Maoret - SERSIS - 12/31/2020 at 3:20 AM
Unanswered
Is there any news about support for online mode (without offline cache) of MAPI accounts in Outlook?

It would be excellent news in the case of on-premise installations and in particular when using VDI systems or Terminal Services with Roaming Profiles

As far as I understand, this is a Microsoft "feature" which has nothing to do with SmarterMail.
I assume that Microsoft thinks it will make Office 365 email servers appear as responsive as.on-premise email servers.

@Douglas Foster: this is an Outlook feature (when you create a new Exchange account in Outlook you can choose to sinc with Exchange Server or not), but SmarterMail support only accounts that have cache option active.

Accounts with cache option disabled give you an error and cant be used in SmarterMail.

SmarterTools claimed that sooner or later it will be supported, but till now there's no news on that.
