Content Filtering question

In the Content Filter, one of the options is to filter based on file extension.

Is there a way to run a third-party tool to convert one file type to another, and attach the converted file to the message?

Specifically, we receive TIF files that we want to convert to PDF files and we have a tool to do that conversion. Looking for a way to do the via a Content Filter in Smartermail.
