Provide feedback here of your experience with v7593 Update - Positive or Negative feedback. Let's give feedback that may help others who have not installed this update yet. What problems has it fixed for you? Has it created new problems? Did it not fix a problem you expected to be remedied? Use the power of this community forum to give more information to everyone. This will help the community of server owners and the SmarterMail staff. I would like to see this for every update release.

It would be helpful if you stated last installed version before updating to v7593 and what has changed for better or for worse. Also state if it was an update to Test server or Production server.

Actually came to write feedback on this. This build right out the gate is doing incredible. Especially with MAPI. I noticed the moment I opened Outlook and just briefly saw "Updating user@domain.com" before it disappeared. Normally, I see that message for 10-15 seconds, Outlook now syncs with MAPI incredibly fast. I've also noticed push actions from an EAS device, like deleting an email, Outlook reflects the change MUCH faster now.

Logging into webmail as an admin also seems much quicker, nearly instant, previously there was a ~20 - 30 second delay after logging in to populate our domain list.

I will be monitoring for Outlook restarting itself, we had that issue with the previous build, which is supposed to now be fixed.

We also previously had an issue with customers deleting a large amount of mail, but the domain size not updating automatically resulting in an admin having to manually refresh the usage, will also be checking to see if this still occurs.

Was on build 7544. We held off the last couple updates due to the translation issues. So far, this update is good.

We updated too and many issues are fixed, plus the performance is good. However, we`re seeing something strange - some PDF attachments are not uploaded correctly when using Outlook via MAPI, so they will not open. Attaching the same files via Webmail works just fine. We are still gathering info on this as some PDFs work and others do not, and we really do not understand what Outlook does with them and why it would break some and not the others. We`ll open a ticket on that soon, after we have some steps we can reproduce.

@Ionel Aurelian Rau - I noticed an issue with .pdf attachment before v7593. The email in Outlook shows an attachment but there is nothing there. When logged into webmail, .pdf attachment can be seen and opened. This was an incoming email from the outside to my customer.

I too noticed outlook PDF attachment not delivering certain clients. Webmail works fine
The issue also noticed build 7544 as well
Kindly provide an intermediate build to fix the PDF issue

There are indeed some minor random issues with attachments now and then, but this is something else entirely. We have a PDF which has been sent multiple times in the past to our clients and which after v7593 it simply does not attach anymore (if you go to the Sent folder or look at the receiving party`s mail, instead of the PDF there is an attachment with the name "unknown" and a very small size).
Attaching this from WebMail works just fine, only Outlook via MAPI is bad.

So, we sent this PDF to our clients numerous times in the past without issues, including from Outlook via MAPI and suddenly after v7593 it does not work. So something changed.

Interestingly enough, other PDFs work.. we opened a ticket - let`s see what comes of it.

However, in the meantime I`m also getting reports of bad sync experience with Outlook via MAPI - namely that mails marked as read or moved in Outlook do not sync the mark / move to the server. This too was working perfectly fine in the previous build. We`re still gathering more info to see how many are affected and to what extent.

@Ionel Aurelian Rau, if you have a known PDF attachment for which MAPI is failing, you can submit that in your support ticket.  That should be enough for us to troubleshoot the data.

I'm hearing two different MAPI issues with PDF attachments.  Some are reporting issues with sending PDF files and others are reporting issues syncing emails that have PDF files.  In both cases if you could open a support tickets we can look into the issue further.  The syncing issue with PDF files should be the easier thing to fix if we can get a copy of the raw EML file.  The issue with sending we'll probably need a Fiddler trace or replication steps.

The PDF causing this has been attached to the support ticket. In our case it`s the same one file that causes Outlook either to throw an error or to attach it as some "unknown" file.

Upgrade from v7544 to v7593 on production server.

Seems Resolved: MAPI client - After changing Contact properties "Save as" and/or "File as" Outlook would crash and not run in Safe Mode or normal mode until all contacts are deleted and re-synced. Have not experienced this since v7593

New issue: Since v7593 MAPI Outlook client does not sync all email items. Items do show up in web mail and EAS mobile client however.

Persistent Issue: Users still experiencing send issues with Outlook using MAPI when sending to many recipients. Cannot send to more than approx. 26 or more recipients using MAPI. Was not an issue with EAS, IMAP, or POP3 accounts.
