Honeypot infos

Hello

I enabled the honeypot today. I'm really interested to see, what will happen.

Unfortunately the manual doesn't really help:
- Where do i see, if the honeypot had success? Logfile or so?
- For how long will be an IP address blocked?

Thanks!

You can look for
[HoneyPot] and _HONEYPOT
In the spamcheck logs to get entries relating to the honey pot. The honey pot does not expire IP addresses, though we do collect the date they get added which could give us the ability to expire them later on.

I found log entries of the honey pot in the file delivery.log.

I didn't really understand " The honey pot does not expire IP addresses, though we do collect the date they get added which could give us the ability to expire them later on. "

- That means, that the IP address will be blocked forever until doomsday or restart?
- Collect in terms of...? Please explain

Thanks !

-They are in the honey pot forever or until removed.
-Along with storing the IP address in the list, we also store the date it was added to the honeypot.

We don't have the ability to expire IP's after a set amount of time right now. But if this is a desired feature we could put in a feature request to potentially get that functionality added.
