Question about upgrading to latest release

Good morning,

I am planning on upgrading to the last public release of SmarterMail today from version 7262. Should this be a smooth upgrade or is there anything I should look out for?

Thank you,
Kevin

We have twice had issues with Domains disappearing or getting screwed up during the update procedure.
Fortunately Smartermail archives the settings so it has just been a case of copying the settings back in.
One case the domain disappeared from the list
Second Case users from one domain also appeared in the second domain

Can you explain the procedure you used in some more detail, it would be useful?

Thanks

This was done in a kneejerk response to a customer saying their mails were suddenly bouncing so SM please correct me if I'm wrong
looked at domain and users, users listed were from other hosted domain
stopped iis and sql
Opened smartermail\domains for the case of the wrong users in wrong domain on both of the involved instances copied back recent from the relative archive folder in the domains the accounts.json into their respective domain folders
restarted and all good

Thanks for help, is the backup of the json file created during the upgrade?

Smartermail kindly create these at 00.01 so you'll have a few days worth

I upgraded one of our mail servers with about 10k email users Saturday June 6th, and haven't seen any issues. Given the past issues with major releases, I was very hesitant but after installing on a dev box and reading through the patch notes I went ahead.

Robert, multi-domain, or all within a single domain?
