MAPI Beta, Outlook only syncs Inbox
Problem reported by echoDreamz - 1/9/2020 at 12:11 AM

Seeing that Outlook (2019) is syncing new messages, but only for the Inbox folder. All other folders do not seem to sync new messages. The messages that are in the folder at the time Outlook does the initial account creation/download of emails is what you get. There is just a message on Outlook saying "This folder was last updated at xx:xx" instead of saying "This folder is up to date" like it does on the Inbox.

Some custom folders will say they were last updated 2 minutes ago, some will say they are up to date, others will say they were last update 20+ minutes ago. Others will say they were last updated x minutes ago, but do not contain emails that were sent before the last update time.

Restarting Outlook does nothing to fix it either.

Just an update, tried a brand new installation of Windows and Outlook, removed previous version from SM's connectivity section for the account, issue still persists.

IE folder will say "Last updated at 4:30PM" (the time I started Outlook), but it isnt syncing messages that were received before that time. The time will not update either unless I restart Outlook.

Hey Chris, is this also the account that gets the "conflict" icon?  If so then it might be related to your syncing problem.  If it isn't then are we able to get the account info so we can see if we're able to replicate locally?

Installed the 7314 beta, same procedure as before, new Outlook install, removed the previous one from my SM account. Initial sync is perfect, after that, only the inbox gets new emails.

So I believe I see a pattern, if the folder is in the root next to inbox, sent items etc. it syncs fine, however, if the folder is a sub-folder of a folder in the root the folder does not sync at all.

Example...
Inbox
Drafts
Sent Items
Deleted Items
Custom Folder In Root
--- Sub Folder in root folder

The red folder will not sync.

Ok thanks for reporting your findings.  I'll see if I'm able to reproduce the issue.  If you go to "Send / Receive" and then click on "Update Folder" does the folder then update?
