New beta, POP3 broken for old Outlook clients
Problem reported by echoDreamz - 12/28/2019 at 6:54 PM
Resolved
It seems all the complaints we are receiving about Outlook timing out connecting to the server is Outlook 2003/2007. Has support for these old builds been retired or is this a bug?

I can't see how POP3 is discontinued. I know MAPI isn't supported. I hope not as I can see my calls going through the roof as well.

This is now fixed in the latest beta.

It seems not completely fixed as there's a "Known issue":

  • If a user has multiple POP3 accounts under the same Outlook profile, Outlook fails to sync the accounts.

Even with the 7306 release we continue to have reports from customers for this issue, so I would say that it is not solved ...

Are you really using this beta in production?

I only was confident that "Production ready" meant "Production ready"...

They said that everything should works correctly for users who do not have the MAPI active (for this reason they declared it was "Production ready") and to test the BETA portion (the MAPI) only with a few selected users ...
