Just thought I'd share with the community how easy it was to migrate from the t3 to t3a class of servers. We had some proxies that were running on t3 1yr reservations to see how they performed and what the right size would ultimately be for the workload. We simply changed the instance type on the ASG launch configuration and fired up new instances on the t3a family. The image was Amazon Linux so it worked pretty much flawlessly. Since these boxes were not CPU bound the savings was welcome and we went ahead and locked them in on a 3yr RI.
