During the upgrade process of smartermail, does the convert status interface update according to the status of your upgrade or is the login banner and headers change or is this static?

Hello Jade. The convert-status page (once logged in as an administrator) is a dynamic page that updates based on the status of domain conversion. The SmarterMail is Updating page will be displayed briefly on service startup as SmarterMail reviews the domain conversions for completion. Once all domains have converted this page is no longer shown, and the login page is displayed once again. The domain conversion check process will occur on every system startup to protect domain data from previous failed conversions. Please let me know if you have any outstanding questions on this.

Hey Kyle

The reason for this post was that the status did not change when using SmarterMail_7117.
After uninstalling SmarterMail_7117 and installing SmarterMail_7093 I was able to see the dynamic changes and the progress of the upgrade / conversion.

Im not too sure if these issues have been patched in version SmarterMail_7118 -but there is definitely a glitch in the interface

Thanks for your response as always!

Jade, thanks for clarifying what you're seeing there. I'll set up a quick test here on my VM and see what kind of behavior I get out of it and let you know. Happy to help Jade, have a great rest of your day!

Jade, just to make sure we're talking about the same area here! When SmarterMail is upgrading a domain you'll first be presented with the SmarterMail is Updating screen like this: (replacing the expected login prompt)
After clicking the Admin Login button and logging in successfully; you're presented with this screen here: (https://mail.example.com/interface/convert-status)
The first screen is not dynamic on its own, but does refresh away once the domain conversions have completed in my testing. The second screen (post-login) is dynamic though, and should update with details about the domain conversions as SmarterMail works its way through them.

Were you not seeing the initial SmarterMail is Updating page refreshing away when complete?

Hi Kyle,

After logging in I was presented with a similar page to the one you showed in your second screenshot how ever it did not have the upgraded domains section, and the content listed in currently migrating was static, ie did not update as the server was progressing.

I was forced to F5, which then redirected me back to the login page.
How ever I cant confirm if this bug exists in latest build 7118 but was present in build 7117

Thanks Jade, its possible the domain conversions had already completed, and this might be why the F5 returned you to the login page. I'd say lets keep an eye out for this going forward and if you see this again please submit a support ticket so we can look at it further. I can confirm though that I was unable to reproduce the issue in house during my testing of a 16-17 upgrade conversion. Thanks Jade, have a great rest of your week!
