Virus Quantine search on SmarterMail Enterprise 17 Build 7090

I just tested searching the Virus quarantine for an email sent today in the folder, but it is not showing up.
I thought that the display only allowed 5,000 emails to show up, but searched all.  It seems however that searching the Virus Quarantine does not even search the newer emails.

Hello Eric. I tested this in our production system and was not able to replicate the issues you're reporting. My assumption here is that there may be an indexing issue, or that the messages themselves include some encoding that prevents successful searching. Can you submit a support ticket on this so we can take a look?

I think Rod still has a log in for a ticket we had.  So I just went into our quarantine directory and randomly selected a message caught by Clam:

Thanks Eric, I'm wondering if the search behavior only occurs with a quarantine count that high. We currently have ~300 in ours, and I see no issues here. We may need to take a closer look at this.

Eric, I spoke with our teams here a little further on this and was provided some additional details that would explain the behavior you're seeing. The virus quarantine and spam quarantine pages will only display a combined total of 5,000 items. Once the combined total is reached, no further items will be displayed, nor will they be searchable depending on what is displayed already. 

This information will be added to our help shortly, and our recommendation here is to purge older contents from the quarantine directories on a regular basis to keep the display dashboards usable for searching. You can sort by date, select older entries and then delete them to free up space in the dashboard.
