Delayed Emails from GMail

Hi,

Over the past couple of days I have been receiving complaints of emails being delayed in some cases by several hours.

Seems the offending domains that are being delayed are Google's Gmail.

I have tried to no avail fixing this.

Disabled SORBS as the Google IP's are blacklisted.

Added whitelist IP ranges of gmail IP's - not sure if this is a good idea?

Disabled greylisting.

And combinations of these on and off.

Nothing seems to work - emails sometimes come through from gmail quickly - I assume because it gets sent from an IP that is not blacklisted and then 5 minutes later the emails get delayed for hours. Sent from a blacklisted IP I assume.

Whitelisting seems to make no difference. And disabling SORBS RBL's - also questionable.

Anyone experiencing these issues and what to do?

Tony from Smartertools helped me out.

Turns out I had inadvertently turned RBL filtering on my firewall which blocks all mail on a list - Turns out Google has many Blacklisted IP addresses.

Thanks Tony.
