Double Folders found

Some of our customers experience certain encounters. They have double junk or sent folders as eeen in their Outlook and webmail. 
These group of users are using ActiveSync for Outlook and mobile phones. I suspect it could be due to Outlook that creates the double folders. How can I be sure about it?
