Edge Browser Leaves A # When Sending A Message
Problem reported by ScottF - 7/10/2018 at 11:30 AM
Resolved
After selecting Send when replying or composing a new message in SM 15 with Edge, a window with a pound sign (#) is sometimes displayed. See attached image.

Here's one way to reproduce:
1. Open MS Edge
2. Go to https://www.smartertools.com and copy the text under SmarterMail into the clipboard (Microsoft Exchange-level email and group chat...)
2. Compose a new message in SM
3. Enter recipient, subject and paste the text in the clipboard into the new message body
4. Select Send and pound sign window is displayed

Duplicated with:
SM version 15.7.6754
Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0

We see this problem. Requesting that it pleased be fixed before support is dropped for v15.

Thanks!

Thanks, Scott, for the replication steps. I've posted this for the devs to look at. Looks like it's an issue with the editor in 15.x and it's not happening in 16.x.

Update. We're no longer getting the # when sending a message with the Edge browser. Maybe this was fixed with the latest Microsoft patches that came out yesterday (10/9/18)?

I can confirm that after applying this Windows update from 10/9/18:

that Edge doesn't leave a # and automatically closes the compose window.
