Event Trigger for Error Responses
Idea shared by Scarab - 6/19/2018 at 11:55 AM
Under Consideration
It would be nice to have an Event Category/Type for SMTP Error Responses in Smartermail.

For example: As an administrator I would like to be notified when our Smartermail server rejects messages for "550 From domain must match authenticated domain" because when this happens on our Outgoing Smartermail server this is almost always due to a client misconfiguring a setting in their web app (like WordPress). From a Customer Support standpoint it would be better for us alerting the client right away to their problem than letting it go unnoticed for months until they contact us furiously angry about something they ultimately did wrong.

I know that if I was so inclined I could write a PS script & scheduled task to parse the SmarterMail logs every 5 minutes for new Error Responses and send an email when one is found, but why reinvent the wheel?

I can see this being a useful feature as well, and have submitted it to our development team for consideration in the future. Thanks!
