In SmarterMail 16.x, you will always see your email address and the Inbox's unread count in the browser tab, regardless of your location within the interface. This feature is enabled by default:
However, because the unread count is displayed at the end, it will be hidden for accounts with a longer email address. I'm going to change this thread from a Question to a Proposed Idea so that we can discuss some changes to this display so that all users can see their Inbox's Unread count.
