Issue with domain alias being email address

We have about half a dozen domains on our server and all have a domain alias.  Due to a previous Active Directory naming scheme each user on one of the domains has an alias to go along with their user account and they login to the web client as username@domainalias.  We upgraded to version 16X last night and now when they login via the web client their FROM email address on their emails are their username@domainalias instead of their username@domainname.com or whatever.

Not THAT big a deal but when you have mailing lists those aliases were setup as the sending address not this domainalias address.  Any ideas?  Thanks!
