SmarterMail 16.3.6508 Malformed Addresses in Drafts

If I start a reply to an email outside of SmarterMail, (on my iPhone in my case) with a recipient address in the format Last, First I. <First.I.Last@mydomain.com>, and save it to drafts to finish it on my desktop computer, I get the following:

When I go to edit the draft, it appears with two recipient addresses:

"Last

and

First I."<First.I.Last@mydomain.com>

I don't know if the mail app on the iPhone added the quotes or if SmarterMail did, but it is clearly interpreting the comma as an address separator.

Latest firefox.
