SmarterMail 16: Possible problem with mailing list Opt-In subscription confirmation?

Good morning, friends. Do you have time to consider a problem I'm having with SmarterMail 16?
 
A client is trying to click on a link to confirm a subscription to SmarterMail mailing list "lcpforum@careplanners.net"
 
 
But when he clicks the confirmation link, he gets a 404 page:
 
404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
 
I have replicated this error by sending command "subscribe lcpforum" to the stServ administrative email address.
 
Is this a bug in the mailing list confirmation Opt-In process?

Hi, friends,

Does anyone have any idea about my question, above? The client -- rather, more accurately, some querulous colleagues of my kind, good-natured client -- are upset and confused about the mailing list refusing to confirm their mailing list subscriptions.

Is there just something I am missing, here?
