Maximum length for passwords

Been looking, and I am sure it is obvious..... but what is the max length a password can be?
We have recently expanded ours to be 80 characters.. so that users can go to an easy remember phrase (i.e. "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap" ...) or whatever chorus, chant, or phrase you please.
Since our passwords can be used to sign in to SM; I know we are going to need to limit them... I just don't know what the max limit for SM is.

I know we use GUIDs which are 36 characters in length for passwords with no issues. Not sure on the total length but 36-characters I can verify.

I haven't seen any clearly defined limits within SmarterMail. Unless there is a functional limit by some mechanism we use, you should be able to create some really long passwords. I think you can safely use any limit you wish. If you do see a problem with them being a certain length let me know and I can investigate further.
