Unable to use local account user in POP retrieval

Seriously, SmarterTool I taking away working features in SmarterMail WITHOUT any prior warning recently.
Before this, they took away the priority setting for outgoing gateway, making the workaround for separate SMTP setting for each domain not possible, then "put it back" via domain setting.
 
The latest - they stop us from using our local account as the email address for POP retrieval.
This made no sense at all, what happen if I decided to download all my company email to SmarterMail, from my hosting site.
 
Seriously, SM 16 is giving more problem than it benefits us.
