SM16 contact categories new e-mail

Contact categories do not show up when writing a new e-mail. Some of our users don't remember who they need to e-mail, but have it setup in a contact category; and the categories do not show up when you start typing in the "to" field of a new e-mail.

Did this work in SM15?  It's a great idea and I proposed it a couple years ago, but never heard that it got implemented. See thread below:

It kind of worked before; if you hit the TO button, it would bring up a list of all the contacts including the global. The categories showed up there as section headers with the contacts below. So you would still have to manually add every user, but they were organized in the categories; which worked for my users that didn't remember who they needed to e-mail for what and let the categories tell them who to e-mail for what.

So that method doesn't work in SM16?

But still not that easy to use. Would be nice to just type the group name and have it autocomplete like how it works with Gmail.

There does not seem to be a way to get a selectable list of contacts from the new e-mail like we used to be able to do with hitting the "To" button, it is no longer a clickable button. I get a selectable list; but only through the auto-fill (suggest) feature, which only works you are starting to type the recipient or recipient e-mail, catagories do not show up.

16.1 has allowed this feature to come back; and it is looking good. Thanks guys! You can make this as resolved.
