New Message window to small

When composing a new message a new window is opened....which is too small and I always have to resize it manually.
 
Is there a way to make the "New Message" window open in a larger window?
 
Opening this window in a new tab would also be good but I think this is browser related. I'm using the latest Opera browser (v43) and there doesn't seem to be an option (or extension) that allows me to open the "New Message" window in a new tab.
 
Any help is appreciated!
 
I'm using Smartermail 15.

AMEN! Needs to be 2 to 3 times larger and AUTOSAVE, at every minute or so.
