Concern about SmarterMail 16.x version

Hi,
 
We are using an hosted server for email solutions and using SM 12.x version. We are planning to upgrade to the latest stable version. Could anyone propose what is the best selection for us?
 
Also i would like to clarify below details are supported by any SM versions:
  1. Have capable API to integrate with.
  2. Register our Contacts on the server that s accessible to all emails clients, maybe with permissions if possible
  3. Upgrade to latest SM version without losing any data.
  4. Mobile app or mobile friendly integration.
  5. Easy to reconfigure signature for everyone from the server.

Upgrading SmarterMail has never presented a problem for me in the 10 years I've been using SmarterMail. If competent IT staff performs the upgrade and understands how to configure IIS the upgrade should be relatively easy. Seeing that version 16 is still in beta and the interface is a significant departure from previous versions, I'd recommend upgrading to version 15 only for the foreseeable future. There are a number of options available regarding contact sharing. Using ActiveSync is probably the best choice for mobile users. A domain administrator can enforce a signature on all outgoing messages.
