Forwarding email is not using the IP address set on the domain

When forwarding email from a domain, the ip address being used is the main ip from the settings, not the one we set for the domain specifically. This is SmarterMail 12.4.
I have restarted the service after the change, but this did not help.
Any help would be appreciated.
