Why do I get a Failed - Network error message when I try to export Contacts?
Question asked by James Tieman - 11/1/2016 at 11:50 AM
Answered
It doesn't matter if I'm logged in as System Admin, Domain Admin or just a user.  I can even be on the server itself.  When I try to export the Global Address List, it offers contacts.csv as a file name, but immediately says, Failed - Network error.

Hello James, I recently fixed an issue with this but it will not be out until the next minor release.  I'll message you a link to an early release build that will solve this problem for you.

This fix was published in the latest minor release 15.5.6222 on Jan 13, 2017. I'd recommend to update to this build and verify the fix works in your environment.

Has this ever been resolved on 15.x?

We upgraded from SmarterMail Version 15.3.6109, to SmarterMail Version 15.7.6855, and still getting a Network Error when trying to export a CSV report.

Mahesh and Nathalie, I am able to successfully export disk usage summary as a CSV report at the system, domain, and user levels.  Are there any particular steps you are taking to replicate this behavior?

Hi Robert,

We just go to the domain in Smartermail and then:

Reports > Domain Summary Reports > Traffic Reports > Disk Usage > Export > CSV - Comma Separated Values > OK

[Failed - Network error]

Just to update, so far we might have narrowed it down to a Google Chrome issue.

Nathalie, I open a ticket with you containing a link for a custom build that should fix the issue.
