Loading large number of log files from Cloudfront, Smarterstats gets stuck

I'm loading a large number (173,267) of log files from CloudFront.  Smarterstats is stuck on "Gathering statistics - Synchronizing files".  It read in the first 3 days of so of logs and stopped. Is there an error log or somewhere to see why it appears to be stuck?

Are you running out of memory on the server hosting smarterstats?  I will sometimes just restart the smarterstats service and processing continues.
